We're a lot like a hot fudge sundae – smooth and sweet, with a bunch of nuts. And yes, we sing a lot. No, we're not good at it.

In The Community

At FLIRT, philanthropy has nothing to do with our marketing plan. You won’t find us passing out business cards, or yawning through board meetings. Leading them, maybe. Rocking out at a fundraiser, for sure.

Truth is, our time giving back to the community grounds us. Helps us find our own head-heart moments. So we’re honored that some of the coolest organizations around allow us to contribute personal time, energy and creativity to make a difference. A few of them:

The Firehouse Community Arts Center engages Lawndale Community youth in the arts, with a mission to empower youth and young adults between ages 12- and 24-year-olds to go deeper, stretch wider and reach higher than they ever imagined they could. They learn and become certified with marketable skills to overcome cultural obstacles of low income, poorly funded schools, crime and everyday lifestyle struggles. FLIRT and The Firehouse have been working together for years to ensure the success and growth of the organization and it has become an organization that FLIRT considers extended family.

Imerman Angels provides a free service that connects cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers in a 1-on-1 mentoring program. Each relationship is based on similarity of cancer type, stage, age, gender and location. Though they are an organization with international clients, they are based in down

town Chicago just a half mile from our office. They raise funds for their program through awareness events, outreach activities, Imerman Active (sporting events), and donations. The Imerman Angels’ mission is to make sure that “no one fights cancer alone.”

After School Matters offers Chicago teens innovative after-school programs to give them a productive outlet for their interests and skills while providing opportunities for their futures. High school students get a chance to work in the field of their choice through hands-on apprenticeships and internships. These opportunities expose them to rewarding careers and aid in their development of marketable skills that the students can put to use in college, the workplace and their everyday lives. After School Matters believes that “teens have a future and adults need to help them get there.”

Like calling your parents or taking bubble baths, staying in touch with FLIRT is something we think you should do more often. So contact us or check out our blog, and don't be a stranger!
